What's on your summer bucket list this year? How about the simple goal of slowing down and entertaining the kids with some engaging and hands-on activities? And what if you could even check some stuff off your own "To Do" list as well? Sounds like a good plan, right? But scouring the web to find activities to fill the days just takes way too long. If you’re like me, you need simple ideas that will be successful for all of the kids - and lots of them. Activities that will allow for … [Read more...]
1 Year to a Non-Toxic Home: Tom’s of Maine’s Awesome Product Line for Kids
Since giving myself the challenge to make our home non-toxic in a year's time, I've been on research overload. Once you really start looking into the myriad of products you and your kids use in daily life, it is shocking. So much so that I needed a game plan on where to start. To me, it made sense to start with the products that we come into contact with the most... The bed and bedding we sleep in all night, the lotions and soaps we use directly on our skin, and the toothpaste we use … [Read more...]
Friday Find: ABCs of Science Book Series
I received the most gorgeous picture book in the mail the other day courtesy of Jumbo Minds' Science. It's called ABCs of Earth Science and is part of the larger ABCs of Science series. The thing I really loved about the book was that it appealed to all three of my kids, ages 7, 5 and nearly 2. The vibrant pictures drew in everybody, my youngest really liked the ABCs and my bigger kids were really into learning new science terms they'd never heard before. A little about the author- A.C. … [Read more...]
