Happy Valentine's Day! Since today's all about love, I thought what better to share today than ideas on how best to document all of those loving (also funny, exasperating, etc.) moments we experience as parents. When I stumbled upon the description of Kristin Roger's The Inspired Home photography course, I was instantly smitten. As a mother in the trenches, I find her approach so very appealing, "fundamental yet inspiring topics related to photography, home life, and managing it all with joy … [Read more...]
Valentine Keepsake: Simple Memory Garland
Last Friday I sent out a quick social media poll on how I should celebrate V-Day with my littles. The winning pick leads me to believe you all appreciate a good, simple project over fancy bells and whistles (my peeps)... With that in mind, I think you're all going to want to jump right into Alli's Valentine's Day project with your own kiddos - like, immediately. Happy Valentine's Day! If you are anything like me, this is one of those holidays that tends to play second fiddle. As much as I … [Read more...]
Candy-Free Valentine: Cleaning Baskets the Whole Family Will Love
You know what's great about having toddlers around? They actually want to clean! It's a treat to them. So much so that I'm giving my littles cleaning baskets for Valentine's Day because I know they'll adore them - not because the net result will be a cleaner home for me (that's just a bonus). Actually, I already gave my tots a sneak peak of the goods so I could show you how much they loved their new kits... Love them they did and I'm positive your kids will feel the same. Unless they've … [Read more...]
Traveling Utah: Alt Summit & Sundance
Hi friends... how are you? Before whisking away to Utah last week, I scheduled everything ahead of time and I didn't get much of a chance to check-in while I was away. I've missed you all. Now that I'm back, I thought I'd provide a glimpse of the whirlwind that was Alt Summit and Sundance. If you follow me on Instagram you've already seen the majority of these photos (and may very well be very sick of #altsummit at this point - so sorry for that, more variety to come, I promise). … [Read more...]
Learning to Eat for Energy
Not to be overly dramatic, but have I told you guys I'm doing something sort of life-changing right now? See, about a week ago I found out about this amazing new online course being put on by a pair of awesome nutritionists, Katie and Megan, and they graciously offered me a complimentary spot - despite the program being, literally, hours from beginning. In their words, "New Year: New Rules is a 15 day program that tells you what foods work, what foods don’t, which habits are the hardest on … [Read more...]

Need a tried-and-true plan for managing all that paperwork that comes in and out of your house, as well as docs you need to keep on hand? This pretty little box came from Target and has made it's home on our entry table for the last few months. It's done wonders in eliminating unsightly paper piles around our abode. Let's take a peak under the hood, shall we? … [Read more...]

What’s Your 2013 Resolution?
Happy New Year everyone! How was your New Year's Eve? If you're an MPMK facebook fan, then you already know we celebrated with sparkling cider for the kids and a Homeland marathon for us once they were in bed. We also took a little time to make some resolutions for 2013. Nothing too astounding - we tried to keep them to a few specific and doable goals. On my list were: preserving memories in a better way (more on my plan later this week) and finding a little time for gratitude and peace … [Read more...]
What to Wear this Fall (& Winter)
Lately I have found myself somewhat obsessed with the concept of a capsule wardrobe. Have you guys heard of, or do you even subscribe to, this practice? Basically you buy a certain number of items (37 seems to be the number I come across most), and mix-and-match them over and over to create an entire wardrobe. The idea being that you get only pieces you love and then don't have to think too much about what to wear in the morning once you're capsule is complete. Whether you think this sounds … [Read more...]
