Red Velvet Pancakes for Valentine’s Day

January 26 by Janssen

I like making holidays special for my girls, but I don't necessarily want to do something terribly complicated. These red velvet pancakes are surprisingly simple and super festive. Also, they aren't loaded with sugar, which is important to me. With the cream cheese drizzle, you don't need gobs of sugar in the pancake themselves (although you can certainly eat the pancakes without the glaze - they're delicious either way). My little girls gobbled them up (and so did I!). I was really … [Read more...]

Elsewhere: Top 10 Meal Planning & Kitchen Organization Ideas

January 8 by Steph (MPMK Founder)

We're soldiering on today with our goal of posting ideas for a better 2014 all throughout January... One of my big goals for this year is to re-address our family's meal planning strategy.  One of the things I talk about in my eBook, Project Organize Your ENTIRE Life: The Quick Start Guide, is the importance of continually re-evaluating your routines as your family (and it's schedule) changes. With baby #3 arriving in March, I know our family is going to be in need of an even more … [Read more...]

New Year’s Eve Treat: Sparkling Jello Push Pops

December 18 by Natalie

Have you given any thought to your New Year's Eve plans? Since having kids, we keep it pretty low key ("Wake me up when the ball drops!"), but it's still nice to commemorate the occasion with a special treat. Steph asked me if I could come up with a spin on champagne jello shots for the holiday (she was inspired by a post at Perpetually Engaged) and I was all over it! … [Read more...]

Hot Cocoa Bar with Spiced Eggnog Whipped Cream

December 10 by Alli

Don't set up your hot cocoa bar without this recipe for eggnog whipped cream!

Baby, it’s cold outside. And that means it’s the perfect weather for a hot cocoa bar. And eggnog… So why not combine the two? Enter: a festive hot cocoa bar with spiced eggnog whipped cream. I’m a personal fan of whipped cream on cocoa, instead of marshmallows. And when you are going the whipped cream route, it HAS to be homemade. December 9 by Wendy

I don't know about you, but around here December is a magical month filled with little surprises around every corner - whether it's a new Christmas book from the library or an impromptu car ride to seek our some twinkly lights. I've said before that, while I don't regularly prepare bento-style lunches for the kids, I like to occasionally sneak one in here or there for a special (and healthy) treat... No doubt this easy-to-prepare lunch put together by our contributor Wendy will soon become one … [Read more...]
