Rice Krispies treats have always been a kid-favorite around our house. So we decided why not take the recipe and make it into an Easter-themed treat?
This recipe is one that kids can help with, there’s no oven time, and you’ll be done in about 15 minutes. It’s that easy!
Not to mention these little ‘Easter baskets’ are as cute as can be.
Ingredients
- 7 cups Rice Krispies
- 1 package mini-marshmallows
- 3 Tablespoons butter
- 1 package cream cheese
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 small container cool whip
- 1 cup coconut flakes
- green food coloring
- Cadbury Easter Candy Coated Mini Eggs
Instructions
Spray two muffin tins with cooking spray. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan. Add the marshmallows and stir until melted. Add Rice Krispies and stir until fully combined.
Work quickly to put a spoonful into each muffin cup. Use a piece of parchment paper to press the Rice Krispy mixture down into the cup.
Using a mixer, blend the cream cheese and powdered sugar until combined. Then add the cool whip until there’s no lumps. Gently stir in several drops of green food coloring. Put a spoonful into each muffin cup.
Put the coconut flakes into a small ziplock bag. Fill a teaspoon with water almost to the top, then add 2 drops of green food coloring. Add this to the coconut and shake the bag until all the coconut is dyed green. Sprinkle the coconut on top of the cream cheese mixture.
Top each muffin cup with 3 Cadbury Eggs. Chill until ready to serve.
