Easy Easter Dessert Recipe: How to Make Bunny Chow

Need an easy Easter potluck recipe or a new treat to fill those plastic eggs? You have to check out this dead simple Bunny Chow recipe.

We brought it to our annual neighborhood egg hunt a few years ago and I got so many compliments I was actually embarassed by how little work I put into it!

Here’s Kristin with the recipe…

Puppy Chow. It’s also known as monkey munch, muddy buddies, muddy munch, or reindeer chow.

You can now refer to this concoction of cereal, melted chocolate, and powdered sugar as Easter Bunny Chow. We jazz things up with a few

We jazz things up with a few Easter ingredients that I found in the seasonal aisle at Target. The result? This little mix is so festive, it would be the perfect favor for classroom parties or family get-togethers.

I was so excited to add little bunny footprints and baby carrots to the marshmallows and Cadbury mini-eggs.

If you’ve ever made a version of this ‘chow’, you know it’s very easy to put together.  Just toss in all your seasonal goodies and you’ve got yourself a treat that everyone’s going to want to get their hands on.

Ingredients:

  • 9 cups Rice Chex cereal
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 bag mini-marshmallows
  • assorted candies and sprinkles

Directions:

Melt butter and chocolate chips in the microwave for 30 seconds at a time. Stir until thoroughly combined.

Add vanilla.

Place cereal in mixing bowl and pour the chocolate mixture on top.

Stir until all the cereal is coated.

Pour the cereal mixture into a plastic bag and add the powdered sugar.  Shake until all the cereal is coated.

Transfer the mixture to a big mixing bowl and add in marshmallows, small candy, and sprinkles.
