Nutritious Kid Eats: Apple Pie Smoothies

September 13 by Kristin

Apple Pie Smoothies - an easy and nutritious breakfast the kids will love!

Who needs a new nutritious breakfast for the kids that’s a snap to whip up? That’s what we thought.

Our contributor, and mom of two hungry high schoolers and a middle schooler, Kristin is teaming up with our sponsor Juicy Juice to bring you guys another genius recipe.

At our house, school is in full swing.  We were longing for schedule and daily disciplines toward the last weeks of summer and now we are missing those sleep-in mornings and lazy breakfasts.!

Therefore, I’ve decided I have no choice but to embrace the early mornings with a few breakfasts that I can have on regular rotation.

One of our favorites in the Apple Pie Smoothie.

It’s both hearty and filling, and the warm cinnamon is reminiscent of fall. Plus the words “apple pie” wins just about everyone over instantly, especially the kids. What kid doesn’t want pie for breakfast?

The best part? This delicious breakfast has all the sweetness of a dessert with a lot less sugar.

You likely already have most or all of these ingredients at home so you can easily whip this smoothie up for your next busy weekday breakfast.  I promise your kids will love it – and you just might be sneaking a glass too!
