Running around with young toddlers is challenging for a number of reasons.
There’s the dreaded task of having to work around nap time. Not to mention the mountain of stuff you need to bring: diapers, changing pads, and- of course – healthy snacks!
Today I’m sharing 7 of our favorite healthy snacks that you can make ahead of time and can grab-and-go without worry.
#1 – The Roll Up
Simple to make and easy to create lots of different varieties, the roll up is a great snack (or lunch) for toddlers as well as their older siblings!
#2 – Healthy Homemade Fruit & Veggie Gummies
Admittedly, these take a bit more work to prepare but, boy, do kids love them!
#3 – Crunchy Parmesan Kale Chips Done 5 Ways
Kale chips have long been a favorite healthy snack amongst parents. They’re super easy to make and slip in your diaper bag– done!
#4 – Breakfast Cups for When It’s Too Cold for Smoothies
Smoothies are a great way to get kids to eat fruit and veggies but during fall and winter sometime they’re just. too. cold.
These yummy egg cups are a great alternative.
#5 – Homemade Nutri-Grain-Style Cereal Bars (with a gluten-free option!)
Nutri-grain bars are great but why go for the processed version when you can make your own at home?
That way, you have complete control over what goes into the food you feed your child.
#6 – Healthy Snack: Chia Seed Granola Bark
If your kiddo prefers crunchy bars over soft, these chia seed granola bars are also a great option.
Healthy Kid Snack with Hidden Protein: Roasted Peas Three Ways
Is there anything more satisfying than a young child that will happily crunch down on some veggies. Again these roasted peas can be done multiple ways.
Plus, they’re a great source of protein!
