I have a little corner of my pantry where I keep seasonal baking supplies. Every year I add something new and this year it’s the Wilton 8 Cavity Silicone Shamrock Mold.
It’s a petite treat mold that makes seasonal treats a cinch. All I have to do is decide what to put inside the molds and just-like-that, I have something fun ready to go.
This particular mold is freezable and you can put it in the oven, so the possibilities are endless.
This year we decided to make a white chocolate treat that takes about 15 minutes. You could literally make this for your kids’ lunches and have it ready by the time you’re done packing their sandwiches.
Kid-Friendly Recipes: St. Patrick’s Day White Chocolate Shamrocks
Start with some white chocolate chips (you could also use semi-sweet chocolate, or whatever you have on hand). I used about half the bag to fill 8 molds.
Microwave the chocolate for 30 seconds at a time until it is smooth.
Put a heaping tablespoon into each mold.
It’s hard to get the chocolate into every crevice of the shamrock. Adding candy and sprinkles to the top, not only decorates the chocolate, but helps you push chocolate into every part of the shamrock.
I put sprinkles on top first. Then I added the seasonal green mint candy to the top and pushed down to spread the chocolate thoroughly.
Pop the mold in the freezer for 10 minutes. When you take it out, you can push the molded candy out with your hands very easily. And the whole thing can be put in the dishwasher, making your job even easier!
