We were stuck inside the other day in an attempt to keep a case of the sniffles from becoming something uglier. As the morning began to drag on (and I realized it was still only 9:00 am), I decided it was time to finally break out the painters tape and make some of those crazy cool DIY tracks I keep spotting on pinterest.
Since we only had extra wide tape, I tore it in half vertically to make wonky strips and C helped me piece them together.
The examples I liked the most covered not just the floor, but also the walls and furniture so went up and over the chair in one direction and up onto the windowsill in the other. The kids totally dug it. We also made sure to incorporate the play garage they got for Christmas.
When the winding roads finally got old, C donned his dino costume and S her scariest roaring posture. And just like that the game turned to playing Godzilla in our newly built town. We kept the track for about three days before deciding to pull it up. I was surprised how much fun the kids had peeling off the tape (once I started it for them) and making tape balls. Gotta love it when one simple activity leads to so much entertainment!
