You guys have had such an enthusiastic response to my Nordstrom Sale coverage this year that I decided to take it one step further and give you pics of some of the pieces as I try them on.
Of course, at this point in the sale it’s often notoriously difficult to find exactly what you’re looking for in store but I did my best!
For a full look at all of my favorites, don’t forget to check out these three roundup posts:
- The Ultimate Minimalist Mom Capsule Wardrobe
- Back-to-School Deals at the #NSale You Don’t Want to Miss
- #NSale Workout Wear (aka the Pieces I Plan to Live In)
Also, a few things to remember about the Nordstrom sale:
- Things sell out often but they do come back into stock as people make returns, so if there’s something you love be sure to check back.
- Along those same lines, if you find something great, snatch it up while you can!
- Finally, don’t be afraid to order multiple sizes to try on at home. Shipping is FREE both ways and Nordstrom is famous for their worry-free returns.
$69, Now $45.90
I absolutely love longer, tunic tops that you can wear over yoga pants and leggings to cover your butt when you feel like being more modest. This one is totally on trend with a wider neckline and crazy soft.
$39, Now $25.90
Speaking of trends, the only one bigger than the off-the-shoulder cut right now seems to be the bell sleeve. These are EVERYWHERE.
And this shirt is the perfect example of why dressing room photos are so key. The photo on the Nordstrom website of this one is kinda horrible! I would have never even tried this on if I didn’t feel how incredibly soft it was in person. Once I did try it on, though, I knew this was definitely the bell sleeve top for me.
The trend is there, but subtle (so I won’t have to worry about the top looking outdated soon) but the really amazing thing about this shirt is the drape – so, so flattering.
$89, Now $58,90
I’d been eyeing this pretty poplin top on the website and it was one of the first things I grabbed to try on in-store. Obviously, this one is pretty wrinkled from a million other people having the same idea but you can still get the idea.
I really like how this top makes me feel fashion forward without pushing my comfort level too much. I think it’s the perfect piece for any kind of girls’ event, whether it be brunch or a night out.
The tailoring of this shirt to be cinched-in by the bust also makes it very forgiving in the tummy area – always a win in my book.
$69, Now $49.50
This is my final bell sleeve pick. It’as another super cozy top and perfect for the sweater-lover that I am. It’s also very light weight but still provides warmth, great for layering under a jacket or vest once winter hits.
And this is the other off-the-shoulder shirt I’m liking. You can see that I have it pulled up here to look more like a boat neck (great for running errands during the day) but you can also pull it down more around the shoulders for a sexier nighttime look.
Love me some versatility!
This one would look super cute with leggings/yoga pants too.
$55, Now $35.90
You guys, never in a million years did I think I’d be walking out of the store with a chenille sweater!
I grabbed it off the rack on a whim and was totally shocked by how much I loved it once it was on. The cut is surprisingly flattering for what I assumed would be a bulky sweater and OMG, is it warm! I’m talking like maybe the warmest sweater I’ve ever owned.
I love this blue but the red is also a great Christmas sweater option.
$59.50, Now $38.90
Stepping back from the cold weather pieces for a minute, I have to give a quick shout out to this Madewell top. So pretty!
This was another one I wasn’t especially impressed with on the website but once I tried it on in person, I found it to be super flattering.
I was worried the cut would be too short for me but it pulls off the shorter, cropped shirt look that’s so in without making me feel uncomfortable scooping up a kid when I need to.
$420, Now $249.90
A leather biker jacket has been on my list for a loooong time. It’s the perfect layering piece for date night or girls’ night.
I haven’t bought one yet, though, because they can be very expensive. This one isn’t exactly cheap but for a quality leather jacket, it is a screaming deal!
I also absolutely LOVE the cut of this one… the other reason I haven’t picked up a biker jacket yet is that it turns out I’m surprisingly picky about them. But this one is perfection.
$98, Now $64.90
If the biker jacket just isn’t in the budget, this bomber jacket is another really fun choice. Also a great basic that will go with anything because the soft wool body and faux leather sleeves make it fancier than your typical bomber.
It’s also pretty thick, so it’ll keep you warm when you need it too and the cut is nice and flattering to the booty. Plus, you can’t beat a cute jacket for under sixty-five bucks!
$49, Now $31.90
This rib knit cardigan has already sold out a couple times but keep checking back! It’s a wonderful staple piece at a great price if you can manage to score yourself one.
Sadly, I had to get home to the kids and couldn’t spend all day at the sale. Before I headed out, though, I managed to snap shots of a few shoes that I thought looked especially great in person.
$149.95, Now $99
I love the edgier look of this booty and wanted to tell you not to be scared off by the name of the “stone blue” color. In person, it’s much more of a gray and a great neutral.
This is the only thing on my list that’s not part of the sale but these super unique shoes were so amazing in person I just had to share.
The floral print and colors would add a super cool pop of color to any outfit, especially if you tend to stick to more blacks and greys with your athleisure wear like I do.
If you want that pop of color without being quite so bold, these purple Adidas are even cuter in person and are guaranteed to get you lots of compliments!
If you can’t find your size, see similar here.
$59, Now $38.90
This is my favorite length of Zella pant and the first time I’ve ventured into any pairs with mesh. Those are no longer available online, but I still highly recommend this cut! The link above is to a patterned legging in this cut, for a more basic black with mesh, also check out these high waist moto ankle leggings.
I was surprised how much I loved these once I had them on and I just couldn’t walk out of the store without them.
And speaking of pants that give you a booty. If you’re wondering what jeans I’m wearing in all of these pics, those would be Madewell 8″ Skinny Jeans.
I discovered Madewell a year and a half ago and I will never wear any other jeans again. Ever.
As I mentioned, I am not naturally blessed with a curvy rear and have struggled pretty much my entire life with jeans getting stretched out or, even worse, giving me a pancake butt.
Madewell jeans are gloriously non-stretchy. You can wear them all day, day after day, and they won’t get loose or baggy on you.
Also, they give your butt some serious lift.
