I am WAY overdue on this post guys – so sorry it’s taken me so long to share my non-toxic beauty routine! I know I promised it to you long ago (maybe so long ago, you’ve totally forgotten about it by now).
My only excuse is that overhauling your beauty products to go non-toxic is a bit of a tricky task and it has taken me a while to really find my favorites.
But find them I did and I’m so excited to share them with you today.
Before we get to that, though, if you’re interested in going non-toxic in your home, then you’ll definitely want to check out…

My 7 Go-To Non-Toxic Beauty Products
#1 – Face Wash: Avalon Organics CoQ10 Facial Cleansing Milk $12.00
For years my go-to face wash has been the cult (and dermatologist) favorite, Cetaphil. I really appreciated how gentle it was on my skin, so when I found out it’s Think Dirty score, I was pretty bummed.
Fortunately, I found this cleansing milk that is just as gentle on my skin plus, BONUS, it fights aging and wrinkles.
#2 – Morning Moisturizer: SW Basics Oil Serum $26.50
One of my biggest discoveries from going non-toxic is how much I absolutely LOVE using facial oils instead of standard moisturizers. They just feel so much more luxurious on my skin and the moisture feels like it really sticks around and doesn’t disappear a few minutes later like a lot of lotions.
This basic serum contains only 4 ingredients and I first heard about it on a beauty podcast. They pointed out that an oil serum containing coffee is the perfect thing for waking up your face in the morning and I totally agree.
#3 – Shave Gel: Kiss My Face Moisture Shave $8.60
Shaving gel is probably the easiest non-toxic beauty swap I made in my whole routine. This moisture shave works every bit as well as a normal shaving gel and is inexpensive and easy to find.
#4 – Body Moisturizer: SheaMoisture Coconut & Hibiscus Body Butter $8.96
My friend, who has suffered forever from chronic and severely dry skin, recommended this one to me. I can see why she loves it so much and I am a big fan of slathering this stuff all over, especially in the winter.
In warmer months, I prefer a lighter body oil instead of body butter. This one, also by SheaMoisture, is my current fav.
#5 – Deodorant: Primal Pit Paste $10.82
Finding a non-toxic deodorant is both the hardest thing to do and maybe the most important since the aluminum in antiperspirants is linked to all sorts of scary stuff like dementia.
The application of this one takes a little getting used to but it is by far the toughest performing natural deodorant that I’ve found.
#6 – Night Serum: Pai Skincare Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil $40.00
You may notice this is the most expensive item on the list (although, it’s really not very expensive as far as beauty products go). That’s because I think night serums are the smart place to spend your beauty dollars.
Also, because you only have to use a few drops a night, this stuff lasts FOREVER.
I think I first saw it recommended on Goop(?) and I’ve been in love with it since day one. According to the manufacturer, it contains:
- Most concentrated Rosehip Oil on the market – outperforms Cold Pressed, Seed Only Oils
- High levels of Trans Retinoic Acid delivers Pro-Vitamin A to the skin without causing irritation
And it’s done some great things for my wrinkles!
#7 – Night Cream: S.W. Basics Cream $32.78
Just like the night serum above, this cream has lasted me for an incredibly long time (I’m still on my first jar months after purchasing). It is so decadent and I use it along with the rosehip oil whenever my skin is feeling especially dry.
That’s it for now. Hope you find something new to love!
