This time of year can be so tough if you have little ones in the house. Snowy weather combined with cold and flu season often means lots of days stuck inside. Around our house that’s a recipe for something I like to call restless kid syndrome – which often results in general crankiness and an increase in meltdowns. So what’s the antidote to this ailment? Getting creative of course.
To help you out, I’ve finally gotten my act together and updated the make and play vault. I’ve added nearly 30 playtime posts from the last several months so be sure to check it out here for some inspiration.
Also today, I’ve put together a third collection of DIY toys and games for you and the kids (see the vault for parts I and II). The beauty of these projects is that you can use them to kill some serious chunks of time making them, as well as playing with them, together. In no particular order, here’s the list:

- Kid craft: moving ballerina toy via zakka life.
- Personalized Guess Who game via Counting Coconuts. (This was one of my very favorite games as a kid. If some industrious grown up put together a version like this for me I would have adored them forever.)
