Good Idea: Busy Bag Swap

March 21 by Steph (MPMK Founder)

Ever since sharing with you guys about parents swapping cliff notes (and your resounding positive response to the idea), I haven’t been able to get it out of my mind.  So here’s the good news, tomorrow I’ll have some bona fide cliff notes for you from a very special guest poster, Whitney of Rookie Moms.  And who knows, it could be just the beginning of a whole new venture here.

Before we get to that, though, I’ve got something else to share today.  I’ve been thinking about other great ways parents could participate in swaps to help each other out.  Topping my list are freezer meal swaps, date night swaps, and – drum roll please – busy bag swaps!  Are you guys familiar with the idea?  Before Whitney makes her MPMK debut tomorrow, I’m stopping by her place today to talk all about my first experience.  Be sure to head over there for all my tips and tricks as well as some of my favorite busy bags.

And just to get you extra excited, here are a few more projects from my swap.  Above is one of my personal favorites, the clothesline.

These paper bag monkeys were part of this kit.  This is definitely at the luxury end of busy bag projects but it’s super cute.

And finally the classic button snake.  Made of ribbon, felt pieces, and a sewn on button – this one is great for building those fine motor skills.

I’ve got lots more info. over at Rookie Moms – check it out here.
