It’s been a while since we put together a Fresh Finds roundup. Since I declared yesterday that 2013 was the summer of the move, I thought a collection of our favorite finds for all on-the-go mamas (moving or not) would be appropriate. (And p.s., if you’re on-the go a lot this summer, don’t forget to check out our tips on how to prepare your home before moving/traveling and how to eat healthy while in motion.)
The comfy play dress
Remember how I said I wanted to introduce you guys to more mom-prenuers around here? Meet Whitney. Earlier this week she wrote asking if I’d help her get the word out on her new company/kickstarter project, Sonnet James.
I was so smitten with the concept and design of her lovely play dresses that I immediately jumped on board the cause. (I also begged her to send me the Doutzen Dress in my size, which she graciously did. Afterall, I’m not above leveraging what I’ve got to score some awesome mama gear.)
Check out the sweet video Whitney’s made explaining her dresses above and then head on over and make a small donation to help kickstart her venture. She’s nearly 75% of the way there but only has 12 more days to meet her goal so hurry. A modest donation will get you a snazzy play dress of your very own!
The ultimate kids craft book
Also arriving in my mail box recently, was Martha Stewart’s Favorite Crafts for Kids. You all know we’re big Martha fans around here (even if we do poke a little good-natured fun every once in a while). So it should come as no surprise that I think this book is fantastic.
It’s jam-packed with 175 projects to get kids of all ages creating, building and designing. The photos are gorgeous and the activities are stimulating, well thought out, and easy to follow. Whatever your kids are into (or whatever you’d like to introduce them to), there’s inspiration for them here.
A few of my favorite activities include the hand-drawn stuffed animals as well as the crazy-cool toy service station and peg board marble run. Plus there are some uber neat large scale projects, like the wooden play market, for mom or dad to tackle.
Easy at-home learning
I’m at it again over on eHow’s mom channel. Adding to our inventor’s box and elephant toothpaste science activities this week with the classic naked egg experiment.
Oh-so-chic moving announcements
If you, like half our team here, are one of the many moving this summer, be sure to check out these trendy “we moved!” announcements from Minted. As always, there are a plethora of gorgeous options to choose from. See them all at Minted.
…And speaking of living in new places – ever wonder what it’s like to be a Mother in Norway? I’m over on sulia discussing 10 surprising things about parenting there. So interesting!
