Five Fun Ways to Play with Marshmallows

March 16 by Steph (MPMK Founder)

Over at momtastic, I’m all about toothpicks and marshmallows for impromptu structure building and color mixing fun (see above for the “finished” product).  Head over for all the details, then click through here for lots more inspiring marshmallow activities.

Typically when thinking of building with marshmallows and toothpicks, structures like this one at Say Yes to Hoboken come to mind (although the rainbow toothpicks are a fresh addition).  If your kids are old enough, this is a great way to spend an afternoon.

To get really fancy, check out the tutorials on these vintage marshmallow and toothpick creations from Kitchen Retro. (I can already picture a contest emerging at my house over who can make the longest giraffe neck).

If you gravitate more to the coloring aspect of today’s project, then you’ll definitely appreciate this Color Me Katie post.

Finally, I ended my momtastic post with a marshmallow drink so I thought I’d do the same here.  To make this polka dot milkshake from Sweet Paul, simply cut a few marshmallows in half and drop them into a strawberry milkshake – brilliant!
