Friday Share: Valentine Inspiration Challenge

February 8 by Steph (MPMK Founder)

Lots to share this week my friends!

I’M SHARING

First up, a little Valentine inspiration.  If you follow me on instagram, then you know I woke up earlier this week with my brain yelling at me that “paint chips = arrow hearts”.  I reached out for advice and people seemed to dig it… but I was too lazy to get around to doing anything with the idea.

So today I turn it over to you!  What can you do with this simple concept of making hearts and arrows out of paint chips?  Instagram or tweet your garlands, chandeliers, Valentines, etc. and let me know (@ModRentMessyKid).

Speaking of instagram and twitter, turns out #MPMK is already being used by an upcoming movie – maybe you’ve heard of it – Moonru Per Moonru Kadhal.  No?  Not familiar?  Well it looks lovely and it comes out in March.  So… back to ground zero on the hash tag search (at least until March).

YOU’RE SHARING

Between probiotics, healthy Valentine snacks, and a new nutrition course, we’ve been in the kitchen a lot this week on MPMK.  So it’s no big surprise my favorite quote of the week has to do with what we feed our kids.

THEY’RE SHARING

Some of my most popular pins recently have come from my Healthy Kid Food board as well as the Clean Eating board I started after completing the Prescribe Nutrition program.  These quinoa + kale patties are perfect for lunch. Also, my sister-in-law made a jumbo batch of frozen nutty banana nibblers for my kids and it’s their new favorite snack – bar none.

Finally, here’s a nice roundup of how to accomplish 5 handy things in 10 steps:

  1. I Can Teach My Child to Read: a 10 Step Guide for Parents (a new eBook from my pal Janae).
  2. 10 Steps to Starting a Leprechaun Hunt (I’m thinking new neighborhood tradition).
  3. 10 Steps to a Stress-Free Home.
  4. How to Get the Kids to Clean: 10 Steps to a Cleaner House.
  5. How to Do a Back Handspring in 10 Steps (I could actually do this in my youth – those were the glory days).

Question of the Day

Please forgive the randomness – but it just occurred to me I’ve never been able to come up with a good answer for this…

What do you say when you don’t hear someone?

“Pardon?” seems matronly, “Excuse me?” / “Come again?” / “What’s that?” confrontational, and “Huh?” / “What?” slightly obnoxious.  So what do YOU say?

Happy weekend!
