Good Coffee

May 27 by Steph (MPMK Founder)

Best at-home iced coffee recipe ever! (And there's a healthier version included too.)
Happy memorial day weekend!  How are you spending your day off?  The family and I are working outside on the yard as much as possible.  Now that summer is officially here, I wanted to quickly pop in and share my new favorite summer drink – iced coffee via the Keurig.

I know the newest version of the Keurig has an iced coffee setting but mine doesn’t and, honestly, even if it did I probably couldn’t be bothered to think far enough ahead to buy the special iced coffee k-cups. Instead I go with this recipe, because if it’s good enough for Wolfgang, it’s good enough for me.

The secret is to brew a dark roast in the smallest cup setting and to add sugar to your cup before the coffee. Add the coffee to iced milk (repeat if you’re feeling like a double) and you’re good to go.

P.S. Since first posting this recipe last year, I’ve developed a healthier version that I try to stick to on most days. Basically instead of the sugar I use a few drops of Stevia. It does take a little while for your palate to adjust, I’m not gonna lie. But after drinking it for nearly a year, I’m totally used to it and look forward to my iced coffee just as much as I ever did. A bottle of Stevia is also kinda spendy, but don’t worry, they last FOREVER. I only put 2 – 3 drops in my drink and I’m still on the original bottle. Hope you’ll try it!
