Since our post 3 Apps I Use Everyday with My Kids was such a hit, I thought it would be fun to do another mini-roundup today. This time of 3 podcast episodes that are crazy good.
I want to note, this is a list of specific podcast episodes that I’ve loved lately. I’ve got a more comprehensive list of some of my favorite podcast shows coming soon!
So the next time you’re doing the laundry, on the treadmill, or in the bath and you need some grown-up talk, grab your phone and give one of these a listen.
#1 Death, Sex & Money: Autism Isn’t What I Signed Up For
I was really taken in by this mother’s honest account of her life with two autistic sons. She shares her struggles and her joys as wells as some of her heart-wrenching realities. One of which is that her and her husband’s current plan for their boys’ long-term care is simply not to die.
Oh boy, I truly don’t know where to start with this one. This is an incredibly moving story of one family’s unique response to their young son’s brain cancer presented by the hosts of my favorite journalistic podcast, Reply All.
You will cry… a lot. But just in listening to this podcast you will also come away feeling like you’re helping to fulfill these parents simple wish- to be heard and felt. And it will make you incredibly thankful for the healthy, noisy children in your life.
#3 What Should I Read Next? Pilot Episode: Jamie Golden
After those two heavy hitters you’re going to need something fun to lighten the mood. The pilot episode of the brand new podcast What Should I Read Next is just the thing. (Shout out to our contributor Janssen for turning me on to this one via instagram.)
If you’re a reader, you will get tons of great ideas on what to read next. And if you’re a former reader who just never has time to read anymore (raising my hand over here) it will make you feel like you’ve gotten a book fix.
Plus the guest on this episode, Jamie Golden, is so funny and relatable you’ll want to follow it up by immediately checking out her pop culture podcast, The Popcast.
Bonus Pick:
The Graham Norton Show: Graham Spices Up Emma Stone’s Life
This one isn’t a podcast but science tells us it’s good to laugh every day and this 3-minute clip will get you giggling. I’ve always been an Emma Stone fan and this only made me love her all the more.
