Mother’s Day is next weekend. How about skipping the usual card/flowers/candle and getting something that she’ll truly love this year?
Regardless of age, all moms will appreciate a gift involving a little self-care this May. Here are 5 ideas guaranteed to wow…
I received this magic little makeup brush for Christmas and I’m not kidding when I tell you it’s a game-changer. The speedy, feather-light, sweeps of the brush are the best thing I’ve ever used for getting smooth makeup coverage. It’s also great for blending other makeup products like blush and highlighter.
Plus, it works so well that I can use a lot less BB cream and nothing ever settles into my fine lines (something every mom will appreciate). You can buy it on it’s own or as part of a combo pack if Mom doesn’t already have a Clarisonic.
High quality photos of the fam is always on the top of every mom’s wishlist. The lights in this clever iphone case will take all the photos she takes of the kids up a notch.
And, hey, if it produces some top notch selfies, maybe it will prompt her to get herself in the shot more too.
#3 A Girls’ Night with Mom to See Life of the Party
Life is busy and making time to hang out with mom can often fall to the bottom of our to-do lists. Taking a little time to get out of the normal routine and connect with her is the best present you can give her.
No rushed texts, no talk of schedules and to-do lists, just a couple of hours to laugh and bond– pretty sure that’ll be the best thing my kids can give me once they’re grown up and out of the house.
Have you seen the trailer yet for Melissa McCarthy’s new movie, Life of the Party? She stars as an old school mom who creates a whole new life. It’s hilarious and in theaters just in time for Mother’s Day. Brunch with your mom, followed by a day at the movie theater together will show her how important she is to you (and, bonus, be pretty fun for you too!).
Every mom can use a little help getting better sleep. This innovative new device is a metronome with a light system that teaches you how to fall asleep naturally, without taking any medicine.
It gets great reviews like this one…
Well, it works. For the past week whenever I wake up at 3am, I reach over and touch the Dodow and time my breathing to the light. The need to focus and concentrate on the light consumes my thoughts and crowds out everything else I might be thinking, and effectively “bores” me to sleep. It doesn’t even take me eight minutes–within a couple minutes my eyes are droopy and I’m drifting out. Amazing, definitely a keeper.
I might just get one for me and my mom.
So far we’ve covered skincare, photos, quality time, and sleep- so what’s left? Wine, of course.
A glass of yummy vino can be the perfect way to unwind after a long day but nobody wants to waste most of a good bottle if they only want one glass. This genius wine preservation system will allow mom to enjoy a glass of wine whenever she wants, without worrying about drinking the rest of the bottle before it goes bad.
Incredibly, the faster pouring needle allows access to wine without cork damage, allowing it to reseal and continue protecting the wine from oxidation, allowing it to continue to age naturally. How smart is that?!
