To make your own set of this memory game, just print out two copies of my template onto card stock and cut out the eggs.
I’m sure you all played this game as kids but here’s a little recap just in case. Simply turn all the eggs over so the bunnies aren’t visible. Each player takes a turn flipping over 2 eggs at a time. When a player gets 2 bunnies that match, they get to keep those eggs and take another turn. The game’s over when all the eggs have been claimed and the player with the most eggs wins.
With younger kids you may want to start with a smaller number of cards (around 8 – 12 total vs. all 18). And for really little kids, leave the eggs right side up and just ask them to find the matching bunnies.
This game is a great way to work on color recognition and turn taking skills. Plus this Easter version is one more thing you can slip in the kiddos’ baskets instead of candy. Speaking of which – I’ll be revealing all the contents of S and C’s candy-free Easter baskets soon!
